If you've seen the reveal-all trailer for this female-empowerment suspense film starring Jennifer Lopez, it should be "Enough." The whole arc of the plot is up there in the coming attractions. So why go unless you're a blithering fan of the pneumatic Ms. Lopez? No reason. Any thinking movie lover will be shouting "Enough!" at the screen after mere minutes of watching the manipulative formula on display. Lopez plays ex-waitress Slim, a wife and mother who decides to say "no" to the abuse that she endures from rich psycho-husband Mitch (Billy Campbell of TV's "Once and Again"). Although the beaten-down mom manages to grab her darling 5-year-old daughter and leave the bastard, the wicked hubby is king of the stalkers, with henchmen to help him find and punish his wayward woman. Slim's response? A martial arts course. Suddenly, she's Chyna crossed with Catwoman. Will she manage to kick Mitch's ass or worse? The film's poster reads, "Self-defense is not murder." That says more than "Enough." | |||
